Revolutionizing Cardiac Emergency Response for a Global Leader in Medical Technologies

In the United States, approximately 400,000 people experience ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) each year, but timely treatment remains a significant challenge. Each passing minute during a heart attack increases the potential for permanent damage. To address this need, our client, global leader in medical technologies, aimed to enhance prehospital care and hospital coordination by developing an advanced emergency response telemedicine system.

GlobalLogic and the client partnered to create a cloud-based telemedicine system, the Ambulance Assistant platform, designed to improve patient care during heart attacks. The system enables rapid prehospital 12-Lead ECG transmission, reducing the time from EMS arrival to balloon procedure for STEMI patients. The platform integrates real-time video feeds from ambulances, vital sign measurements from connected sensors, and other critical data, allowing doctors to monitor patient status, prepare treatment protocols, and coordinate care. It also enables doctors to see real-time changes, reserve treatment rooms, and document incidents for post-event analysis.

GlobalLogic managed system development, device integration, and cloud solutions, ensuring secure data transmission and real-time communication. The platform enhanced EMS capabilities, streamlined hospital workflows, and provided comprehensive data management, resulting in a 60% cost saving and managing over 30,000 transmissions per month with 99.9999% uptime. Impressed by these results, the client has expanded its partnership with GlobalLogic to drive further innovations in patient care.
